With over two decades of experience in the legal field, Mirabela Maier is a paralegal in the Intellectual Property + Technology Group and has been working in the area of intellectual property since 2007.
Mirabela’s area of expertise is patents and industrial designs, but she also has experience in trademarks. Prior to joining Field Law, Mirabela began her career in intellectual property working for a prestigious, international law firm in Calgary, where her role was to support professionals and clients in a number of ways, including, but not limited to:
- drafting documents during various steps required throughout the prosecution of a patent application
- filing patent applications with the Canadian, United States and PCT patent offices
- corresponding with foreign law offices and patent agents in view of filing and prosecuting patent applications in countries around the world
- docketing and monitoring deadlines related to the prosecution of a patent application
In addition to her Business diploma from the Polytechnic University of Timisoara, Mirabela holds a highest honours diploma in Paralegal Studies from the Trios College of Business Technology and Healthcare. She is one of the first to receive the designation of Certified Canadian Patent Administrator (CCPA) from the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
