Katherine Fu is a litigation lawyer, with a focus on health law and insurance law.

Katherine’s health law practice is centred on defending healthcare professionals and organizations against medical malpractice and negligence claims. Katherine represents healthcare authorities, hospitals, and medical professionals in malpractice actions and complex disputes, appearing in court and through alternative dispute resolution.

Her insurance practice encompasses coverage, defense, and subrogated actions involving property and injury matters.

Katherine also maintains a general litigation practice, with experience in construction, debt recovery, and civil forfeiture matters. She has a particular interest in defamation claims.

Katherine began her career at Field Law as a summer student in 2017, returned as an articling student in 2019, and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2020, and the Northwest Territories Bar in 2024.

Her ability to navigate complex legal and medical issues makes her a trusted advisor to healthcare organizations and insurers. Her collaborative approach and keen understanding of the healthcare landscape ensure her clients receive comprehensive and practical solutions.
