Jason McCulloch is a solicitor with a focus on real estate law and wills.
His commitment to legal education is evident through various roles, such as teaching Bar Admission Courses in Real Estate and serving as a section co-chair of the Real Estate section with the Canadian Bar Association. Jason has also imparted his knowledge to real estate agents through instructional courses for the Edmonton Real Estate Board. Additionally, he has been actively involved with the Legal Education Society of Alberta, contributing as a panelist and chair for numerous courses, including recurring appearances as a speaker at the Lake Louise Refresher on Real Estate.
Beyond his professional endeavours, Jason is deeply engaged in volunteer work within his community. From planning functions to serving food and drink, participating in neighborhood clean-up initiatives, and even donning the Easter Bunny suit for a clandestine egg-hiding mission, Jason's contributions extend far beyond the legal realm.
His passion for the arts is evident through his involvement in local theater, including performances in a fundraiser variety show and key productions such as Law Day and Players De Novo which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Victoria School of the Arts as well as local theater companies.
Value to Clients
"I like to think of my approach to real estate as 3D in nature. Many of my competitors can complete an average real estate deal but few take the time to look beyond the 2-dimensional surface level of the transaction. I am constantly learning and re-evaluating my own processes to find efficiencies and new ways to protect my clients and provide a higher quality service. Even after completing thousands of purchases and sales, I have never forgotten how exciting a real estate transaction can be for my clients and I remain appreciative of the opportunity to help them navigate these important transactions."
Outside the Office
When not immersed in legal matters, Jason is a dedicated family man, raising two children. He finds solace in outdoor activities, such as mountain biking, and indulges his musical side by playing the guitar, albeit with a self-deprecating acknowledgment of his skills. In his quieter moments, Jason channels his creativity into writing screenplays. He has won or placed high in several screenwriting contests including a top 50th placement, out of over 7200 other scripts, in one of the world’s most prestigious screen writing contests - the Nicholl Fellowship (a contest ran by the same Academy who hands out the Oscars each year).
While rumors circulate about Jason participating in "Dancing with the Stars," it's essential to note that this is a delightful fabrication. Nevertheless, the prospect of a screenplay centred around an aging lawyer with bad knees and no coordination entering a dance competition holds the promise of an intriguing storyline in the future.
While Jason was strongly encouraged to wear a suit for this website photo, it is likely the only time you will see him in one.
