As Field Law's Director of Professional Recruitment and Development, Dawn Filippi is responsible for coordinating activities related to the firm's recruitment of lawyers, articling students and summer students. Her key areas of focus include design and execution of recruitment campaigns, development and oversight of onboarding activities and coordination of orientation sessions for students and lateral hires.

In addition, Dawn develops and administers the firm’s internal professional development program. This initiative provides specialized training and educational opportunities for students and lawyers at various stages in their legal careers and coordinates associate development activities. She also manages the firm’s mentorship program, formal evaluation process and Articling Student Program.

As the former Director of Education with the Legal Education Society of Alberta, Dawn brings a strong understanding of continuing legal education, adult education, and lawyer competency development. Those skills, along with her over 30 years of experience in the courts and private practice, help her to understand the expectations and demands for the firm’s lawyers.

Outside the Office

Outside the office this retired ski patroller still likes to spend her winter on the slopes and looks forward to the return of the white fluffy stuff every year.
