Let's Talk About the Charter

Join Field Law’s Professional Regulatory Group and your professional regulatory colleagues for our first roundtable of the year.
This session will focus on the intersection of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and professional regulation, including discussing the main Charter rights that may be raised within this context and the situations in which they apply. We will also discuss the meaning of Charter values and when they may be relevant to professional regulation.
Some topics that we will cover include:
- The Doré analysis
- Freedom of expression
- Search and seizure
- Life, liberty, and security of the person
- Right to counsel and self-incrimination
- Equality rights
Who should attend? This roundtable is designed for professional regulatory staff or directors involved in the discipline or registration processes.
Space is limited so please register early to avoid disappointment. Due to space constraints each organization will be limited to a maximum of two participants.
