Field Law Community Fund Offering $75,000 in Community Grants
September 7, 2021
SEPTEMBER 7, 2021 - Field Law, a western and northern regional law firm, is pleased to formally launch applications for its Field Law Community Fund Program, which will distribute $75,000 in funding between Northern Alberta, Southern Alberta and the Northwest Territories.
Since its inception in 2013, Field Law has donated more than $610,000 to 105 organizations across Alberta and the Northwest Territories. This year, as groups and charities continue to navigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, their work is vital to re-building communities and supporting those in greatest need.
According to Jeremiah Kowalchuk, Managing Partner of Field Law, “The Community Fund Program provides local groups and organizations with an opportunity to further develop the important work they are doing to make their communities stronger. We welcome registered and non-registered charities, teams, associations and community groups of all kinds to apply.”
Applicants can visit fieldlawcommunityfund.com to submit an application. Application entries close on October 4, 2021, at 5 p.m. MST.
The public will have an opportunity to vote for their favourite applicants through an online voting portal that will go live on October 7, 2021.
Of the $75,000 in funding available, there will be $30,000 available for Northern Alberta market applicants, $30,000 for Southern Alberta organizations and $15,000 for the Northwest Territories.
New this year is the Fielders’ Choice Award. In addition to the first, second and third place prizes (determined by the judging panel), this year Field Law has added the Fielders’ Choice Award to give Field team members the opportunity to choose one organization in each community region to receive $2,000.
All winners will be announced online on December 1, 2021.
Some of the organizations who benefited last year include Bringing Back Music North of 60, Connecting Seniors through Technology, Good Food 2 Go, Indigenous Mental Health Support Circle, Making Changes Women in Technology, Moon Time Period Kits for Northern Teens, NSTP and Black Girls Corner: Empowered for Better Wellbeing, The Brenda Strafford Centre Computer Lab and The Doorway Approach.
