The Director, Business Development and Marketing will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our law firm across all offices. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to enhance the firm's market presence, attract new clients, and expand existing client relationships. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business development, marketing, and the legal industry, combined with exceptional leadership and communication skills.

Duties + Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development and marketing strategies aligned with the firm's goals and objectives.
  • Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to define and prioritize business development initiatives.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, social media, content marketing, and events.

Client Acquisition and Relationship Management

  • Lead efforts to attract and retain clients through targeted business development activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement client engagement programs to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing business development and marketing team.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
  • Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.

Brand Management and Positioning

  • Maintain a strong brand identity for the firm, ensuring consistency across all marketing materials and communications.
  • Oversee the production of high-quality marketing collateral, including brochures, presentations, and proposals.
  • Oversee the firm's online presence, including website content, social media profiles, and online advertising.
  • Coordinate public relations efforts, including media relations, press releases, and speaking engagements.

Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and emerging trends.
  • Analyze market data and prepare reports to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Monitor competitor activities and develop strategies to differentiate the firm in the marketplace.

Qualifications + Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in business development and marketing. Experience within the legal services industry is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful business development and marketing strategies.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep understanding of market research and analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, social media, and content marketing.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.

Working Conditions

  • Following a probationary period and subject to job requirements, Field Law supports a hybrid work environment that requires three days per week in office.
  • Travel to other offices for meetings and/or events is required.
