About Don Blackett, KC

A born-and-raised Calgarian, Don’s connection to the Rocky Mountains has been lifelong. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta, Don was part of the inaugural graduating class of the University of Calgary Faculty of Law in 1979. In 2014, Don made the move to Canmore to pursue his passion for living and working in the mountains. He established Blackett Law which grew from a sole proprietorship into a thriving corporate, commercial, and real estate firm serving clients in Canmore, Banff, and surrounding areas.

About Karen Wiwchar

Karen also hails from Calgary and has strong ties to Saskatchewan. After earning her law degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1985, Karen practiced at a large firm, specializing in corporate, commercial, and securities law. She later brought her expertise to in-house roles at the Alberta Securities Commission, the Forzani Group, and H&R Block before joining Blackett Law in 2021.
