Ayanna Ferdinand Catlyn has a general corporate and commercial law practice in Northwest Territories and Nunavut. She provides advice to a wide range of for-profit and not-for-profit corporations in connection with a variety of corporate and commercial law matters.
She advises on a broad range of issues including joint ventures, secured transactions, amalgamations, shareholder agreements, corporate governance, purchase and sale of assets, corporate-aboriginal law matters, director and office liability, risk, conflict of interest, and regulatory compliance.

Prior to joining Field Law, Ayanna practiced as general counsel and corporate secretary for over 10 years for a number of charitable, not-for-profit corporations. In this capacity, she was a key member of the executive leaderships teams, advising corporate executives on a host of business matters, negotiated multi-million dollar contracts and acted as general counsel for one of the largest hospital amalgamations in Ontario. She was designated a health law specialist for the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Ayanna brings a value-added approach to corporate and commercial legal matters based on her experience working with executives and her relationships with business leaders in the North.
Ayanna is the First Vice President of the Northwest Territories Chamber of Commerce. She is also the Chair of the NWT Bar Association Privacy Law section.
